  3. Abyangha: The Ritual of Self Oil Massage (Practice-second location)

    Hosted at The Whispering Cave: In this two hour workshop, we’ll slow down and drop into one of Ayurveda’s most powerful and talked about practices: Abhyanga. Also known as self oil massage, this ancient and rejuvenating practice soothes the nervous system, aids in restful sleep, and creates space for deep connection to the self. Ayurveda is based off of the premise that “all disease is rooted in the mind.” Ayurveda has a highly sophisticated system for analyzing, purifying, and redirecting the mind. We’ll explore ways to bring the mind back to balance, bring peace and harmony into the body, and transcend the ordinary experience.

  9. Ayurveda, Digestion & Vibrant Living: Three Part Series

    Ayurveda understands that there are different types of digestive systems associated with different body types. It provides solutions unique to each individual as there is no such thing as a “one diet fits all” approach. Drawing upon ancient wisdom of Ayurveda, this class series will cover dietary and lifestyle practices for optimal digestion. This class is taught in three consecutive Wednesdays in April.

    Just as each season changes from one to the next, our bodies go through changes throughout the year. Ayurveda, an ancient healing system from India, teaches us that in order to stay healthy, we need to adjust our diets and lifestyles to match that of the season. This class will be focusing on the transition into the winter (cold & flu season) and how to stay healthy and vital through simple daily practices.

    Location: Mississippi Market-West 7th Street Spring detoxing with herbal, dietary, and lifestyle suggestions to shed Winter's accumulation and heaviness. The elemental make up of the spring time naturally encourages our bodies to lighten, shed, and detoxify. Learn how to align the body to the season and shed the toxins and extra materials gained through the winter. Slide into spring and summer feeling lighter, cleaner, and more refreshed.

    Location: Mazopiya (Prior Lake) Learn simple identification, harvesting, and preparing of Minnesota’s wild foods. When winter snow retreats and the ground begins to thaw, some of the most potent and medicinal wild foods peak their heads out of the ground. We will explore which plant allies emerge and how to use them in food and medicine.

  24. Herbal Salve Making

    Location: Mississippi Market- West 7th This class we will create an herbal Salve using Plantain- an herb that is known for it's powerful healing ability to reduce inflammation, clear toxins, repair tissue, and soothe irritated skin. We'll dive deep into the healing benefits of this common weed, and create a slave for you to take home to use on bruises, burns, insect bites and stings, sunburn and poison Ivy.
